Visakhapatnam/Vijayawada: Indian Coast Guard Station, Krishnapatnam is carrying out flood relief by deploying two teams in rain-ravaged Nellore in Andhra Pradesh.
Coast Guard personnel are augmenting flood relief operations and rendering assistance to the stranded personnel due to flood in Kollagatala village.
The teams have been working relentlessly in the affected coastal districts to rescue people in distress and relocate them to safe locations
An estimated 500 people are stranded in the area affected by continuous heavy rains in past few days bringing normal life to a standstill. Shops and establishments have downed shutters due to heavy rain.
With the unprecedented rains and resultant heavy flow a number of areas have been impacted by floods. Civil aid operation is being undertaken by Indian Coast Guard personnel in coordination with NDRF & SDRF team, fire fighting team and local administrations.
